Farewell to Fr. Mathew and Welcome to Fr. Babu

The St. Mary’s Malankara Catholic parish, Chicago bade farewell to Rev. Fr. Mathew Perumbillikiunnel, the outgoing pastor and welcomed Rev. Fr. Babu Madathiparambil, the new pastor, on Sunday, September 28, 2014 in the presence of His Excellency the Most Rev. Thomas Mar Eusebius, Bishop of the Exarchate. The Sunday Holy Qurbano was presided over by His Excellency; Fathers Mathew and Babu were the concelebrants. During the meeting after the Holy Qurbano, many people, representing the various Organizations of the parish thanked Fr. Mathew for his meritorious service in the parish and extended a warm welcome to Fr. Babu. His Excellency thanked Fr. Mathew in the name of the Exarchate for the past four years of committed pastoral ministry in Chicago and for his service as the Director of the Apostolate of Catechism in the Exarchate. He also officially welcomed Fr. Babu to the Exarchate and to the Chicago parish. Fr. Mathew, in his reply speech, thanked the parishioners for the love and support that they extended to him. Fr. Babu Madathiparambil also hails from the diocese of Bathery just as Fr. Mathew.
