Farewell to Rev. Fr. John Kuriakose and Welcome to Rev. Dr. Gigi Philip

After six years of commendable service in the St. Mary’s Syro-Malankara Catholic Mission in Toronto Rev. Fr. John Kuriakose is relieved of his responsibilities in the Mission. On January 25, 2015 he was given a warm send off from the parish after the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided over by him. The Syro-Malankara Catholic Church in North America remains deeply thankful to Rev. Fr. John Kuriakose for the remarkable pastoral leadership that he gave to the mission and also for his generous cooperation and assistance to the common activities and Apostolates of the Exarchate. His pastoral leadership in the mission has helped to strengthen the mission and to provide it greater unity and consolidation. During his ministry in Toronto, our mission has grown considerably in number, precisely because of his enthusiasm in finding out new immigrants and bringing them to the community. May God continue to bless him in all his future ministries in the Church. Rev. Dr. Gigi Philip has been appointed the new Vicar of the St. Mary’s Syro-Malankara Catholic Mission in Toronto. He took charge of the Mission from Rev. Fr. John Kuriakose during the celebration of the Holy Mass on Feb. 1, 2015. The parishioners accorded him a very warm welcome. Rev. Fr. Gigi Philip had served this mission for an earlier period of six years. The Syro-Malankara Catholic Exarchate extends hearty welcome to Rev. Dr. Gigi Philip and wishes him a grace filled ministry.
