Parish Establishment and Convention Registration Kick-off, Dallas

The St. Mary’s Syro-Malankara Catholic mission is Dallas was raised to the status of a canonical parish in the Syro-Malankara Catholic Exarchate in the USA on Sunday, May 13, 2012. During the celebration of the Holy Eucharist by His Excellency the Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius, Bishop of the Exarchate, the Decree of the establishment of the parish was read out by His Excellency and Rev. Joseph Nedumankuzhiyil, the Pastor, Mr. Sujan Kakkanattu, the Secretary and Mr. Sajan Cheriyan, the Treasurer of the parish together received the Decree from His Excellency amidst laud applause. The Syro-Malankara Catholic community in Dallas was started in 1991. In 2011, as a result of commendable sacrifice and hard work of the parishioners, the community was able to construct a beautiful church for itself on a spot of almost 6 acres of land. Very Rev. Corepiscopo Geevarghese Mannikarottu, the former Vicar gave leadership to the church construction.
The parish-wise registration kick-off of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Convention 2012 in the St. Mary’s Syro-Malankara Catholic parish in Dallas was held on May 13 in the parish Church after the holy Mass. Many parishioners received the registration kit from His Excellency Mar Eusebius.
