Silver Jubilee Celebration of Sr. Agnes DM and Registration Kick Off in New Rochelle

The St. Mary’s Syro-Malankara Catholic Parish celebrated the Silver Jubilee of the religious life of Rev. Sr. Agnes DM on Sunday, April 19. His Excellency Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius presided over the celebration of the Holy Qurbono that day. Very Rev. Fr. Augustine Mangalath and Rev. Fr. Sunny Mathew were concelebrants. After the Holy Qurbono, a meeting was conducted to felicitate Rev. Sr. Agnes for having completed 25 worthy years of religious life. The Good Friday Service

His Excellency the Most Rev. Thomas Mar Eusebius, Bishop of the Exarchate officiated the Good Friday services at the St. Vincent de Paul Malankara Catholic Cathedral Parish in Elmont. The service started at 8.00 am. and was concluded at 2.30 pm. Rev. Fr. Sathyan Antony, Rev. Fr. Abraham Lukose and Rev. Fr. Cyril Andand OIC concelebrated with His Excellency.

The Service of the Washing of the Feet

His Excellency the Most Rev. Thomas Mar Eusebius, Bishop of the Exarchate conducted the Maundy Thursday service of the washing of the feet at the St. Jude’s Malankara Catholic Parish, Philadelphia on April 2, 2015. The service started at 6.30 pm. with the evening prayers. This was followed by the service of the washing of the feet which was a first time experience for this parish. After this service, His Excellency presided over the solemn celebration of the Holy Qurbono. Rev. Fr. Saji Mukkoott, the Pastor of the Parish and Rev. Fr. Thomas Malayal, the former Pastor were concelebrants.

Malankara Convention Registration Kick Off in Chicago

The parish based Registration Kick Off of the forthcoming Syro-Malankara Catholic Convention was held at the St. Mary’s Malankara Catholic Parish, Chicago on March 29, 2015. The Palm Sunday liturgical services and the Holy Qurbono were presided over by His Excellency Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius. Two new canonical provisions for the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church

The Holy See today (March 26, 2015) announced two new canonical provisions for the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, namely a new Eparchy and a new Exarchate in India outside the hitherto proper territory of the Church. 1. Eparchy of St. John Chrysostom of Gurgaon: The new Eparchy extends along the northern part of India, covering 22 of the 29 states. The district’s southern boundary is made up of the four Central states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Orissa.

Blessing of the New Church in Houston

A long cherished dream of the St. Peter’s Malankara Catholic parish in Houston came true on March 7, 2015 with the blessing of the newly built church of the parish. His Excellency the Most Rev. Priest-Coordinator for the Syro-Malankara Catholics in Canada

Rev. Dr. Gigi Philip, who has assumed charge as the Vicar of the St. Mary’s Syro-Malankara Catholic Mission in Toronto has been appointed the Priest-Coordinator of the Syro-Malankara Catholic communities in Canada by His Excellency the Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius. There are presently two missions with the presence of priests in Canada, namely, in Toronto and in Edmonton. Besides there are cities in Canada where there is a considerable number of Malankara Catholic families, like Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa, etc.. Rev. Dr. Gigi Philip hails from the Archdiocese of Tiruvalla.

Farewell to Rev. Fr. John Kuriakose and Welcome to Rev. Dr. Gigi Philip

After six years of commendable service in the St. Mary’s Syro-Malankara Catholic Mission in Toronto Rev. Fr. John Kuriakose is relieved of his responsibilities in the Mission. On January 25, 2015 he was given a warm send off from the parish after the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided over by him. The Syro-Malankara Catholic Church in North America remains deeply thankful to Rev. Fr. John Kuriakose for the remarkable pastoral leadership that he gave to the mission and also for his generous cooperation and assistance to the common activities and Apostolates of the Exarchate.

New Year Celebration in the New Jersey Parish

St. Thomas Syro-Malankara Catholic Parish in New Jersey had a grand New Year Day celebration. The celebration started with a liturgical reception accorded to His Excellency the Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius. His Excellency presided over the New Year Day Eucharistic celebration. Rev. Msgr. Peter Kochery, the Pastor, Rev. Fr. Jacob John, the Associate Pastor and Rev. Fr. Abraham Lukose were the concelebrants. After the celebration of the Holy Qurbono, there was a meeting in which Mr. John Varghese and Mrs. Aleyamma John, the most senior couple of the Parish were felicitated.
